When PeHD material is irradiated, the structure changes. Afterwards irradiated material can tolerate very high heat without affecting the thermal and mechanical properties. Irradiated material and not irradiated material cannot be welded together optimally. A mechanical expansion plug should therefore be used after foaming.
SallingPlast have had the following tests performed at Fernwärme-ForschungsInstitut (FFI), Hannover, Germany:
These reports can be obtained.
We mainly work with pipes with dimensions ranging from Ø 25 mm up to Ø 1200 mm, but dimensions up to Ø 3000 mm can also be handled.
We also carry out work using Polyethylene (PeHD) sheets with thicknesses up to 100 mm.
Two sealings independent of one another, e.g. adhesive and sleeves, must be used in order to create a double sealing on a casing joint.
SallingPlast AS recommends minimum 4 mm thickness if extrusion welding is to be made.
Shrinkable products can be supplied packed in white foil to protect against the suns UV rays as well as dirt.
We use two types of foils: One without and one with release agent. The type with release agent is used for products with adhesive. Foil thickness varies between 0.04 mm and 0.12 mm.

We only use approved raw materials from recognized suppliers. We have well educated and certified employees and therefore supply products of high quality.
It is very important for us to produce products which meet the needs of our customers, comply with set requirements and live up to the customers expectations.
We keep full track of our products. This is achieved by labelling our products with production codes and controlling our processes and materials.
Our employees are constantly kept up to date with various courses, e.g. welding certificate for PeHD, workshop certificates for steel welders or general courses in quality improvement.
We constantly use operator/process controls, so that each employee is responsible for performing the correct work. The work is then checked internally, while the dispatch department runs final check.
We are always up to date with the newest Danish and foreign requirements and standards, and we can issue certificate according to DS/EN 10204.
3.1 certificates can be obtained for a small fee.
If you require certificates for a delivery, please inform us no later than when you place the order.
We endeavor to meet our customers wishes regarding delivery date at all times. If the required delivery date cannot be met, we will let you know as soon as possible. Regarding standard products, we have an average delivery date of approx. 5 days of receiving the order.
A term for companies that, through an increased focus on the environment, want to prevent, reduce and where possible eliminate pollution, primarily at source, and ensure that natural resources are managed with a sustainable view.
Sleeves can be delivered as closed or open material with weldable closure. The closed sleeve comes in width 150 mm and 225 mm and the open sleeve in 150 mm, 225 mm and 300 mm. We have all common types in stock.
Adhesive is a sealing product that seals between jacket and casing. The adhesive can be fitted inside the casings up to and including dimension Ø 560 mm, whilst it for larger dimensions is supplied on roles of 20.5 m loosely packed. Roles are supplied with a width of 50 mm or 100 mm.
We are an approved IPPC company. Our primary waste products are PeHD and PUR leftovers. All PeHD is recycled, while PUR leftovers are sent to an incineration plant.
We make annual environmental accounting.
Products from SallingPlast can be labelled according to individual requirements.
As standard, our products are labelled according to internal specifications.
Casings must be stored upright to avoid ovalization. Shrinkable products must be stored as cool as possible (max 40°C) in order not to activate the shrinking process (from 50°C). Shrinkable products must be kept out of direct sunlight.
SallingPlast recommend covered storage of shrinkable products or that they are kept wrapped in foil. The foil should not be removed until just before the shrinking process begins.
SallingPlast is not responsible for damaged properties caused by inappropriate storage.
All orders are packed in the best way to minimize transport costs. In general, casings up to Ø 400 mm are packed on pallets, while casings from Ø 450 mm are packed loosely.
If an order consists of different dimensions, the casings will be packed inside each other to take up as little space as possible.
Complies with EN253, Polyethylene High Density
Density >944 kg/m3
Melting index 0.2-0.8 according to ISO 1133:1999
Certificate 3.1 can be obtained.
A surface milling reduces the wall thickness of the overlap/assembly. This can be an advantage if the casings are installed with shrinkable wrap and closed with weldable closure.
Polyurethane foam consists of polyol with cyclopentan and isocyanat.
Average cell size: Closed cells: > /= 88%
Core density: > /= 60 kg/m3
Pressure strength: > /= 0.3 Mpa
Water absorption: Fulfill the requirements of EN253
Test Report can be obtained.
Steps indicates the number of different dimensions a given product can be used for. For example, a reduction has Ø 125/160 2 steps.
DS2119, EN253, EN448, EN488, EN489 and EN13941.
In our catalog, illustrations and measurement tables are presented for many of our products. If you, however, need additional drawings/measurements, we will be happy to provide more detailed material.
A V-joint is a track running the length of the casing leaving 1-2 mm thickness, which can easily be sliced with a knife. Used as preparation for extrusion welding. If requested, we can supply casings with V-joint, which optimizes/eases the welding process.
