Adhesive
Adhesive is a sealing that seals between jacket pipe and casing. The adhesive can be fitted inside the casings up to and including dimension Ø560 mm, whilst it is supplied on roles of 20.5 m for larger dimensions; the width of a role is 50 mm or 100 mm.

Certificate
We have had the following tests completed at Fernwärme-ForschungsInstitut (FFI), Hannover, Germany:
Shrinkable casing with adhesive, sleeves and insulation FFI report No. 487_4355
Shrinkable casing with adhesive, shake mix and sleeves FFI report No. 498_4355
Assembly T-piece with flanges FFI report No. 618_4522
Welding casing FFI report No. 595E_4499

These reports can be obtained.

Delivery Date
We endeavour at all times to meet our customers deadlines; the day after receipt of your order, we will fax you an order confirmation with a despatch date.

If we charge you the freight cost on our invoice, you will receive a new order confirmation with freight cost and delivery date one day before despatch date.

This despatch date is a guide line – if paying a small amount it is possible to have a 100% definite despatch date.

Diagram
There are provided diagrams for many of our products in our catalogue, however, we are more than happy to help if a more detailed diagram is needed.

Dimension
We mainly work with pipes which dimensions range from Ø25 up to Ø1,200 mm, whilst it is still possible to continue up to Ø3,000 mm.

Besides pipes, we also carryout work using Polyethylene (PeHD) sheets with thicknesses up to 100 mm.

Double Sealing
Two not depending sealings, e.g. adhesive and shrinkable sleeves, must be used in order to create a double sealing on a casing joint.

Environment
We are an approved IPPC company; our primary waste products are PeHD and PUR leftovers. All PeHD is recycled, whilst PUR waste is sent to an incineration plant.

We also keep an annual environment account book.

Extrusion Welding
Salling Plast recommends a minimum of 4 mm thickness when carrying out an extrusion welding.

Foil
Our shrinkable products come with optional foil packaging to protect against the sun’s UV rays and dirt.

We use two types of foil; one with and one without release agent. When using products with adhesive, the foil with the release agent is always used.

Thickness of the foil varies between 0.04 mm and 0.12 mm.

IPPC Company
An indication for companies that aim to prevent, reduce and eliminate pollution at source through the efficient use of natural resources and the establishment of an EU wide integrated permitting system.

Irradiation
When PeHD material is irradiated the structure changes.

Irradiated material can tolerate very high heat without effecting the thermal and mechanical structure of the material.

Materials which have been subject to irradition cannot be welded together with those that have not been exposed to irradition, as the structure of the two materials are incompatible.

It is therefore recommend that a mechanical plug is used as a foam hole sealing.

Marking
Products from Salling Plast can be labelled according to our customers’ requirements.

As standard our products are labelled according to internal specifications.

Packing
All orders are packed the best optimal way to minimize transport costs.

In general, casings up to Ø400 mm are packed on pallets whilst casings from Ø450 mm are packed loose.
If an order consists of different dimensions, the casings will be packed inside each other so as not to take up more space then necessary.

Quality
We use only approved raw materials from recognized suppliers, have well educated and certificated employees which results in products of the highest quality.

It is very important for us to produce products which meet the needs and expectations of our customers at the same time ensuring that they meet set requirements and standards.

We keep full track of our products. This is achieved by labelling our products with production codes plus control over our processes and materials.

Our employees are kept constantly up to date with necessary courses required for welding in PeHD, steel ect. or general courses to obtain the highest standards in quality control.

We are constantly running operation/processing checks, where the single employee is responsible for the correct procedure of a job. It is then again checked internally, whilst our dispatch department runs final checks.

We are always up to date with the newest Danish and overseas requirements and standards, and can issue certificate DS/EN 10204.

3.1.B certificates can be obtained if paying a smaller fee.
If you require documented tracking and/or certificates for a supplied product, then we ask that you inform us when you place the order.

Sleeves
Two types of sleeves can be found; a closed sleeve or an open sleeve with a weldable closure.
The closed sleeves have widths of 150 mm and 225 mm and the open sleeves widths of 150 mm, 225 mm and 300 mm.
All sleeves are shrinkable.

We have all these types in stock.

Step
The No. of steps tells us the number of different dimensions, needed on a particular product, e.g. a Ø125/160 reducer has 2 steps.

Storage

Casings must always be stored upright to avoid ovalization. Shrinkable products must be stored as cool as possible (max. 40° C) in order not to activate the shrinking process (from 50° C).

Shrinkable products must be kept out of direct sunlight.

We recommend covered storage of shrinkable products or that they are kept wrapped in foil. The foil should not be removed until just before shrinking.

Salling Plast ist not responsible for damaged characteristics in the products if the damage is due to inexpedient storage.

Surface Milling
Surface milling reduces the thickness of an overlap/joint, which can be an advantage if the casing should be mounted with a shrinkable wrap and finished with a weldable closure.

V-Joint
A V-joint is a track running the length of the casing leaving 1-2 mm thickness, which can easily be sliced with a knife. Used as preparation for extrusion welding.

We can if requested supply casings with V-joint, which optimises/eases the welding process.
